Training Future Leaders: A Look Inside A Mindanao School

We use education as an essential tool for ending the cycles of violence that have plagued Mindanao, Philippines for so many years. By building and facilitating schools and children’s homes, we effectively negotiate freedom for child soldiers and protect children from trafficking situations.

Schools like this one provide children with the skills to become proud contributors and peacemakers in society; an opportunity never afforded to prior generations.

When children receive an education and acquire tangible skills they are seen as more valuable and are far less likely to end up on the front lines of an army. Some of these children can even go on to earn scholarships for university!

By investing in these young generations, we are also investing in long-term change and breaking the cycles of violence one child at a time.
